Motto: Loving God, Loving People, Loving Life
At Colonial Church, our motto is simple but powerful: loving God, loving people, and loving life. We strive to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance where everyone feels valued and welcomed. Our desire is for each individual to experience the love of God and develop a deep and meaningful relationship with Him. We believe that when we love God, love people, and love life, we can truly make a positive impact in our world.
Church Service
Time and Weather Conditions
Our church service takes place every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. We understand that weather conditions may not always be ideal, but we believe that there is no better place to be on a rainy day than in the house of God. So, whether it’s raining or the sun is shining, we invite you to come and join us for a time of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
Celebration and Festivity
At Colonial Church, we believe in the importance of celebration and festivity in our worship services. We want our church to be a place of joy, where we can come together as a community and celebrate all that God has done for us. We believe that celebrating God’s goodness and faithfulness is a vital part of our worship and brings us closer to Him.
Sacrificial Offering for a Building Project and Charity
We recently had a Miracle offering where our entire church came together and gave sacrificially towards a building project. The amount raised was an incredible $32,290, which will go towards the initial stages of our make room building project. We are excited to embark on this project and create a space that will facilitate spiritual growth and community engagement.
Additionally, as a church that believes in the power of giving, we decided to give the first 10% of our offering to Convoy of Hope, a Christian organization that provides disaster relief and meets local needs. The funds will be used to help those affected by disasters in Florida and internationally, including the current situation in Israel. We are grateful for our generous church community and their heart for giving.
Furthermore, Colonial Kids, our children’s ministry, also participated in giving by collecting their own offering. They raised an impressive $1,042, demonstrating their understanding of the power of giving from a young age. Together with the Buy a Meal offering, which raised $4,510 in just one Sunday, our church community exemplified generosity in action.
Importance of Receptivity
Sermon Topic: A Heart and Mind Open to Receive from God
During our church service, the sermon focused on the importance of having a heart and mind that are open to receive from God. This message is crucial because when we are receptive to God’s voice and leading, we position ourselves to receive His blessings, guidance, and direction in our lives. It is through our receptivity that we can experience the transformative power of God’s love and plan for us.
Emphasis on Worship and the Word of God
To cultivate receptivity, our church places a strong emphasis on worship and the Word of God. We believe that worship creates an atmosphere where we can connect with God on a deep level and allow His presence to work in and through us. Additionally, studying and meditating on the Word of God helps us align our hearts and minds with His truth, enabling us to better hear and receive His message in our lives.
Belief in the Power of Giving and Reaping Blessings
At Colonial Church, we firmly believe in the power of giving and reaping blessings. When we give sacrificially, whether it be our time, resources, or finances, we open ourselves up to receive God’s abundant blessings in return. This principle is rooted in the teachings of Jesus and is a fundamental part of our faith. By embracing a lifestyle of generosity, we can experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from making a positive impact in the lives of others.
God’s Work and Meaningful Life
God’s Desire to Use Every Individual
At Colonial Church, we believe that God desires to use every individual for His purposes. Each person has unique gifts, talents, and abilities that can be used to bring glory to God and make a meaningful impact in the world. We encourage everyone in our church community to discover their God-given calling and to pursue a life of purpose and significance.
Invitation to Have a Spirit of Receptivity
We extend an invitation to all members of our congregation to have a spirit of receptivity. This means being open and attentive to what God is doing in and around us. It involves actively seeking His guidance, listening to His voice, and being willing to step out in faith when He leads us. When we have a spirit of receptivity, we position ourselves to witness and participate in the incredible work that God is doing in our lives and in the world.
Hearing and Seeing God’s Actions
Having a heart and mind open to God’s work allows us to hear and see His actions more clearly. Often, God speaks to us through His Word, through prayer, through the counsel of others, and through divine appointments. When we are receptive, we can discern His voice and recognize the ways in which He is moving in our lives. This deeper level of awareness allows us to experience God’s presence and guidance in a tangible and meaningful way.
