11 AM Service – The Name: LORD

Welcome to the 11 AM service at Coggin Church! This week, we will be continuing our series for Christmas 2023 called “The Name.” Our focus for this service will be on the name “Lord” and how Jesus is our king. We are excited to have Dr. Todd Gray, our pastor, delivering a powerful message on Jesus as our King.

Before the message, we will have a time of worship where we will introduce a new song called “Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery.” This song beautifully speaks of Christ being robed in majesty and bringing light to the earth. It is a reminder of the incredible gift we have in Jesus.

During the service, we invite all our guests to fill out a connect card. This card allows us to connect with you and help you get plugged in with our church community. After the service, we encourage you to visit the Connection Cafe, where you can enjoy refreshments and meet our pastors and staff.

New Song: ‘Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery’

One of the highlights of this week’s service is the introduction of a new song, “Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery.” This song, written by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa, beautifully captures the awe and wonder of Christ’s incarnation. It speaks of Christ, the perfect Son of Man, who came to save us and fulfill God’s plan of redemption. We hope this song helps you experience the wonder and joy of Christmas.

Connect Card and Connection Cafe

At Coggin Church, we believe in the power of connection and community. That’s why we provide a connect card for our guests. Whether you are a first-time guest or have been attending our services for a while, we invite you to fill out a connect card. This will help us get to know you better and assist you in getting connected with our church family. Look for the connect cards in the pews or pillars if you are seated in the balcony. You can hand the card to Pastor Todd at the Connection Cafe after the service.

Speaking of the Connection Cafe, it is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some light refreshments. It is also an opportunity to meet our pastors and staff, ask questions, and connect with others in our church community. We encourage you to visit the Connection Cafe after the service and experience the warmth and hospitality of our church family.

Budget Discussion for 2024

As we approach the end of the year, it is time to look ahead to 2024. One crucial aspect of our church’s operation is our budget, which allows us to fund various ministries and impact lives for Christ. During the upcoming budget discussion, we will focus on the importance of ministry impact. It is vital to remember that our budget is not just about numbers but about the ministry opportunities and gospel impact that our financial resources make possible.

Our goal is to align our budget with the mission and vision of our church, keeping Jesus as the Lord and center of everything we do. In prioritizing Jesus as Lord, we recognize Him as the Image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation, and the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Surrendering to His authority and following His will should be our top priority as we consider our financial stewardship.

Jesus as Lord

At the heart of our service and our entire Christmas series is Jesus as Lord. The name “Lord” holds significant meaning and reveals essential truths about who Jesus is. He is described as the Image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation, and the Creator and Sustainer of all things.

This recognition of Jesus as Lord demands our surrender and obedience. He should be the priority and center of our lives. We must place our trust in Him and follow His will, knowing that He is the source of true joy, peace, and fulfillment.

In this Christmas season, let us truly embrace Jesus as our King and Lord. May we reflect on His majesty and the wonder of His incarnation. As we celebrate His birth, may we recommit ourselves to surrendering to His authority and living out His will in our lives.

Conclusion

As we prepare for the 11 AM service focused on the name “Lord,” we invite you to join us in worship, receive a powerful message from Dr. Todd Gray, and connect with our church family. We are excited about the upcoming Christmas gathering, where we can celebrate together, wear ugly Christmas sweaters, and enjoy friendly competitions. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Christmas Eve services, a time for reflection and worship. Lastly, let us remember the significance of Jesus as Lord and prioritize surrendering to His authority in our lives.
